 The United As One tour kicked-off at the Wabur Theater at the Ft. Knox military base in Kentucky on January  20,  the day after the 28^th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards in Nashville. The tour’s next stop was a standing room only crowd at the Olivet Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN.  Following Chattanooga, the tour continued to Mt. Pleasant Church and Ministries (Saturday, January 26); the APG Post Theater in Aberdeen, MD (Sunday, January 27); and St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, VA (Monday, January 28). Six-time Stellar Award winner and GRAMMY^®  nominated recording artist VaShawn Mitchell will release his new project, Created 4 This, August 28, 2012. The new album was recorded live in his hometown of Harvey, IL.  Created 4 This will also be released as a Deluxe Edition CD + DVD, which features 13 songs, three live performance videos, and exclusive behind-the-scene footage. Nashville, TN (April 19, 2012) – Multiple award winner, Grammy Award nominee, VaShawn Mitchell, to be honored in hometown of Harvey, IL next weekend.  The popular praise & worship leader will be appreciated at a ‘Street Naming Presentation’ on Sunday, April 29^th and then will perform at his live recording concert on Monday, April 30^th.

Mitchell will be recognized by The Honorable Mayor Eric Kellogg, along with Alderman’s of the City Council and residents of the City of Harvey at a ‘Street Naming Presentation’ on Sunday.  Taking place at 14615 South Winchester in Harvey at 4:00pm, the street will be officially re-named ‘VaShawn Mitchell Avenue.’   Family, friends and fans are all encouraged to join the celebration.

VaShawn Mitchell started off 2012 with 6 Stellar Award trophies in hand.  Having been nominated for 11statues, VaShawn's chart-topping CD - TRIUMPHANT ~ made him the top winner at this year's festivities.

EMI Gospel artist VaShawn Mitchell and Smokie Norful are celebrating multiple wins at the 27^th Annual Stellar Awards, that taped before a live audience on Saturday at the historic Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville TN.    

VaShawn Mitchell had a Triumphant evening as he led all nominees with 6 award wins, receiving top honors as Artist of the Year.  Mitchell also won Male Vocalist of the Year, and Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year and his album Triumphant, won the Praise & Worship CD of the Year.  VaShawn’s hit song “Nobody Greater” won for Music Video of the Year and Urban Inspirational Song of the Year.  Although it did not garner the “Song of the Year” award, the presentation from the announced winner Kirk Franklin to the song writer Darius Paulk was a Stellar evening highlight.
